(Cattle) Branding

Our family loves brandings! We love it when we all get to work together. The kids love the riding, helping out, and getting dirty. The adults love…riding, helping out, and getting dirty. I guess we’re all just kids at heart!

Some riders go round up the cows from the pasture and bring them into the corral so we can brand and doctor them. After the branding we always have a big lunch with everyone who helped. 

I wanted to take some pictures of this fun family event, but I also wanted to make sure my camera gear was protected, so I did some research and came up with my own redneck fix. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked. I used some gallon bags to put my camera and my lens in, then I sealed the two bags together with duct tape, then I sealed the bag onto the end of the lens with vet wrap.
